World Bank Evaluation: World Bank policies based on "questionable evidence"

This is the latest in a string of World Bank reports that underlie what we at the 50 Years Is Enough Network and many other groups have been saying for years: World Bank development policies are based on an ideology of market fundamentalism and not on any evidence that those policies lead to genuine development. This is an evaluation of all research activities carried out by the World Bank, both in its Development Economics Vice-Presidency and in other Bank units, between 1998 and 2005.The question is whether this will likely to lead to any significant change at the institution. We sincerely doubt it.
